Funded by International Visegrad Fund

Project Leader: NGO “Mountain rescue centre”, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine

Project partners:

Realization: June 2023 – January 2024

The main project issue is to create a base for preserving and spreading safety knowledge from senior mountain rescuers to young volunteer rescuers of the Carpathian region. Its tasks are: to exchange experience, qualifications, knowledge, best practices, and know-how between Czech, Polish, and Slovak senior rescuers and Ukrainian ones; to support cooperation between the mountain rescue teams of Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic in the field of personnel training and further development of the network of mountain rescuers in relevant countries.

Many of Ukrainian professional and voluntary mountain rescuers are now defending Ukraine, some have been killed by russian aggressors in the war of russia against Ukraine. In this situation it is crucial to ensure the transfer of the rescue knowledge from the seniors to young rescuers, to put together best practices in methodologic materials, handbooks and to train new generations. And the experience of SK/PL/CZ seniors, their activities and support to operating rescuers teams are very important.

Activities will include visits of UA partners to colleagues in SK/PL/CZ; study of the activities of senior mountain rescuers/honorary members of voluntary mountain rescue units; creation of senior rescuers club in Ivano-Frankivsk region.
