Rescuers for nature

Main project purpose was to involve the community and volunteers to the protection and conservation of protected areas within Dniester regional landscape park of Ivano-Frankivsk region and to raise the awareness among local residents about the new opportunities associated with the sustainable development of tourism in the Park.

Project activities: 5 round tables with local communities’ representatives were held on issues of the Dniester canyon nature preservation, minimization of possibilities for hydro-power stations construction and the search for alternative areas for the sustainable eco-tourism development of the Park territory.
We also arranged an eco-path of 7,5 km along the Dniester and organized eco-campaign on cleaning of the Dniester banks from the garbage; the map of the area with nature protected monuments, areas and objects was issued and distributed among the target groups, as well as within the presentation of the region at international tourism exhibitions. The information about the project activities was widely disseminated through mass-media, social networks and was published at project partners’ web-sites.

The project initiator – Nataliya Gasyuk got the second national award “Terre de Femmes” of Ives Rocher Fund, which was directed to the continuation of the eco-activities in the Dniester river area in 2019 and 2020.
